I never complain or give any reviews about any doctors offices but this is by far the worst experience I have ever had as a patient. Healthcare system is broken as we know it and having an HMO as opposed to a PPO makes absolutely no difference other than aggravation, abuse by doctors offices and this one specifically should not operate a business. Dr Glenn Chapman is a nice person. He is quite knowledgeable with regard to his field of practice, however, his office is clearly run like a business only. Transactional in part and the other concerned about one’s health. This isn’t to say that Dr Chapman is perfect at all but to serve as a warning that no patient should be berated or approached as if it’s all the patients responsibility to do the office staffs job. As a patient I am aware of my responsibilities of getting a referral from my primary. However I was distinctly told by his incompetent staff including Josephine that no referrals or authorizations were required based on the diagnosis or my benefits. It became apparent when the claims were not paid correctly that this is when all hell broke loose. There are two sides to this story and yes I am responsible for asking my primary for a referral but that’s it. Dr Chapman has a contract with my insurance that allows for 15 minute intervals ( per modality) at one hour in total to work on my body. He gives 30 minutes only. My insurance is contracted to do one hour not 30 minutes. He clearly has indicated to me that although this is true he isn’t going to give me more than 30 minutes. Two claims were submitted and partially paid but his office visits were not because there wasn’t the appropriate referrals on file that they said were not required. To place blame on me the patient is completely ludicrous. His office staff clearly did not want to do their job. After contacting my insurance they decided to re process his claims to reflect him being paid for his office visit. I contacted their office along with the insurance company to advise them it was being handled. Dr Chapman got on the phone and began to apologize for his staffs inability to act like professional people hence he stated that he can no longer treat me and that I should go elsewhere. This comes down to one thing. MONEY!!!! Gd forbid you ask questions, or make a complaint. This comes down to the system. If I was cash pay, or a PPO patient none of this would occur. I truly believe that I will be portrayed in a negative light and Dr Chapman will refute anything I stated. The focus lies on how you treat people. Doctors are practicing medicine they aren’t perfect nor are they accountable. Dr Chapman has an ego just like most men and I have every right to feel safe and protected. He clearly doesn’t care about his patients. Yes he has a long standing practice and yes he is regarded very well by many. But sometimes the business end of this can ruin the practice. Maybe this should be a lesson to everyone here in this country to be your own advocate, speak up, ask questions and most of all go to a doctor you feel good with. There are thousands of them and you don’t have to accept abusive behaviors from anyone. His fake apology wasn’t taken to heart and again I don’t have to be treated by his office. I contacted Josephine Wednesday and clearly told her I wasn’t returning to their practice due to her abusive tone. I told her that I would find another doctor. However, Dr Chapman decided to add insult to injury by telling me that he was sorry for his staff behaving the way they did only because the insurance company was in on the call and it was being recorded. This is the way doctors get away with their behaviors. No one is tied down to anyone. You can pick and choose who you go to and never have to endure this type of abusive behavior from any office.

I have experienced excruciating pain for more than 2 years. I've visited several doctors and hospitals and urgent care when the pain has been unbearable. I've also had physical therapy. Nothing helped or worked. 1 visit to Dr. Chapman and I've been pain free for the past 2 weeks for the first time in over 2 years. He was very attentive, caring, gentle and comforting. His hands are magical instruments. I am so grateful for a Dr. that genuinely cares and focused on the source of my pain and not a pill pusher. I can't thank him enough for helping me.
