The staff was wonderful and the Pharmacist went above and beyond even going so far as checking every pharmacy in the whole network looking for a medication that I needed that he didn't have.

Well, this pharmacy isn't the greatest. That being said you go there because it's convenient. They always have my medication and always open. It must be he'll to work there. So you have to have some compassion for the counter person. If your a patient and need a prescription filled just know you have to wait. My average wait time is 1.5HR. Again just appreciate they are always open regardless of holiday and usually always have medicine in stock. It can be bad and long wait times. Just be patient

I have had nothing but good experiences with this pharmacy until they put in a "new pharmacy system to better serve you". Now if you call the wait times are never less than 30 minutes and today it was 39 minutes. Also, it appears that it is not possible to put in a prescription and have it ready the next day. Myself and four others in the line I was in all had to wait while they put our prescriptions together right then. None had been started yet despite being in the system for a few days. So, what is up with this system? Presumably they changed it because there is a benefit to someone somewhere. It is not obvious to me what that benefit is.

Three weeks ago I would have said this was the pharmacy you should use, they have everything in stock, hold times low if any, and quick turnaround. But now? I'm going to switch my prescriptions to Walgreens.

I don't write a lot of negative reviews but I'm really frustrated with this pharmacy. My nurse went to pick up my medicine before I was discharged from the hospital and the pharmacy decided to close about 40 minutes early without warning. She had already called down there and told them she was on her way to pick up a prescription for her patient and when she got there they had just locked the door. I wasn't able to get my pain medicine prescription and by that time all of the other pharmacies in the city had already closed. I had to go all night without pain medicine and had to endure a lot of pain all because someone decided to shut down the pharmacy early.
Johns Hopkins is a world renowned hospital and it's pharmacy should reflect that same level of professionalism. Closing the pharmacy early when patients are counting on you for their prescriptions is absolutely unacceptable.
For perspective, I'm rating the hospital 5 stars for excellent and professional care during my 3 day stay, but this pharmacy does not fit in at all with what you'd expect from the hospital.

This is the worst pharmacy ever my doctors sent my pain medicine here and the supervisor told me that I can’t get it because I have been receiving pain medicine too often but if that was true my doctor wouldn’t have given it to me. And she doesn’t know that I have a chronic illness. What kind of pharmacist tells someone that they can’t get their pain medicine! she said that she didn’t even look into my file before she said that to me. my doctor and insurance company had to call her to force her to give me my prescription. Do not come here they will withhold your medicine from you and the supervisor thinks she’s a doctor and she thinks she has the right to tell somebody when they can and can’t get their medicine. Awful experience I never had experience like this until I came to this pharmacy. if your doctor offers to send your prescription to this pharmacy do not let them! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I was at this pharmacy for three to four hours before I got my medicine.

I love going to this pharmacy for the most part they always have my medicine in stock and if they don’t, it only takes a day or two and as soon as it’s ready, I get a text message I do not have to keep calling asking if my medicine is in stock yet when it’s there when it’s ready, I am notified the staff and the pharmacist are very friendly… but I will say there is no parking other than double parking so if you are just trying to run in and grab medicine the parking definitely sucks that’s why I gave it a four star instead of a five because of the parking

Worst pharmacy I've been to, wait time is ridiculous. A.M. OR P.M. the line is always long, the phone wait is long and the online pharmacy almost never works, Im just ready to transfer back to cvs. Only good thing is they are open most of the time. Oh and they claim they are upgrading there system so that's why we wait so long but they've been upgrading for like 6 months now.

I should first preface that I work at JHU so I am probably biased here in that I use their pharmacy to fill my prescriptions multiple times a month.... I don’t know how they ever received a 5 star review, but please trust that this specific pharmacy is absolutely AWFUL. Don’t go here unless you are a patient in the hospital and don’t have much choice. They are 100% apathetic to the needs of the patients here (let’s be accurate and say “customers”). Every time my doctor sends over a prescription here I find myself angry, disappointed, and depressed with the whole experience.

Be prepared to have your Rx denied until the next day. Be prepared to wait until yet another day while they get that Rx in stock. Be prepared for a pharmacist to say “I need to speak to ONLY the prescribing Dr.” and refuse to speak to anyone at the Dr.’s office (which is not standard - this is why there is a separate line for Rx authorizations!). Why does it take them 9 hrs to fill a Rx (8am opening to 5pm end of day)? If you call it in the previous day, is it that unreasonable for a pharmacy to fill a Rx the following morning, or heck even afternoon? These people DO NOT CARE. I literally passed out once while waiting for a diabetes med to be filled (in person) for several hours. They had to send for a wheelchair while I recovered, and I still had to wait. I am tired of hearing “we are working on it” and “it will be ready in 20 min” or “1 hr” only to wait a full day. Hopkins, we ARE better than this. Please do something about your people.

P.S. They took the chairs away during the COVID shutdown, so these long, unbearable wait times are spent standing...
