I highly recommend Dr. Liz Chapek. Prior to seeing her, I had no knowledge of her specialty (Osteopathic Manual Manipulation) and how it might help. I read about this type of treatment in a book and was lucky to find Dr. Chapek. Even in my first visit, she was able to key in on some issues that were previously undetected and she was able to immediately provide treatment that resulted in a significant reduction in body pain. I was astounded. Dr. Chapek is very patient centric, asks lots of questions and is a great listener. She allows the time in her schedule to focus on you fully. She takes great notes, so that even if it's been a while since she last saw you, she knows exactly what happened at your prior appointments. I consider her to be an important part of care team and recommend her without hesitation.

I was very skeptical of this type of treatment when I first started doing some research on getting some help pain in my upper back and arms. Dr. Chapek had excellent reviews, so I decided to give her a shot. She is a very quirky and unique individual. She still uses an answering machine, she doesn't have email, and she makes her own pamphlets.

On my first appointment, she had me answer alot of questions. She wants to know what hurts, how you did it, why you did it, etc. Once she has a good idea of what is going on, she has you lie down on the table and she places her hands on your head. She keeps her hands on your head, sometimes moving them slightly and she will periodically stop and take notes. I remember thinking, who is this lady and what the heck is going on?

After she finishes her assessment, she tells you what she's found, and then begins making adjustments to your body. These are minor adjustments, some of which you may feel hardly at all, other than the pressure of her hands. It is at this point that you ask yourself, how much am I paying her to just sit here with her hands under my shoulder?

Once she is done making her adjustments, she will tell you to sit up slowly. I scoffed the first time; why would I need to sit up slowly? Big mistake. I went to sit up and immediately got a little light-headed. She will then tell you that it's going to get worse before it gets better. In my ignorance, I left the first time thinking, "How could I possibly be in pain from her treatment? She barely pushed on me." I was wrong. After my first treatment, I was in quite a bit of pain for 2-3 days. But something miraculous happened after that - I started getting better.

That was 3 years ago. I have continued to see Dr. Chapek when I have pain in my body, or muscles that aren't cooperating. I wish I could explain the voodoo that she does, but I can't. A couple of weeks ago, I had some annoying head and jaw pain, which I attributed to allergy issues, but my real concern was the pain in my abdomen and hip, which I had no explanation for. I told Dr. Chapek my symptoms and she asked what happened, and I told her that I honestly had no idea. She had me lie down and after about 5 minutes, she asked me if I hit my head. My first thought was, WTH is she talking about? I told her no, I didn't remember hitting my head. She told me that what she was feeling was consistent with someone hitting their head. I told her I guess I could have, but I didn't remember it. I asked her what this would have to do with the pain in my abdomen and hip. She then explained that it appeared that I had hit the upper right part of my head, and the fascia got strained and the resulting tension wove itself around my head, circled my neck, and went down through my abdomen to my hip in a spiral motion. I have been seeing Dr. Chapek for years now, but I still thought to myself, "Uh, ok." She asked me again if I was certain I hadn't hit my head. I told her that I guess I did?

She treated me and I went home. I went inside my house, then I remembered that I left something in my car. I opened the garage door and as I was walking towards my car in the back drive, I almost hit my head on the raising garage door and suddenly remembered that I had hit my head on it a couple of weeks ago when I wasn't paying attention. Guess which side of my head I hit? I had no memory of it until that moment. I seriously felt a little freaked out in that moment. How did she do that? I will never completely understand her magic, but I will tell you this - I was better in 24 hours. Like no pain at all. She is amazing, and I can't recommend her enough.

Dr. Chapek is our go to for anything that seems to be related to muscle or joint pain. She helped me resolve a tendonitis type problem that had persisted for years. She is respectful, thorough, detailed, inquisitive, and patient. She is very honest about what her specialty can help you resolve, and she is very good about referring to an expert who can complement the work she does. She helped me with foot pain, she has helped my wife with back pain, she helped our kids. She follows up with her patients, providing insights on preventative care. We are so grateful that we discovered her!

Dr Chapek is amazing. What she can accomplish with her hands almost seems magical. I always leave her office significantly better than when I came in. Besides treating my body when something is out of place, she is full of valuable advice. I love talking to her. She will also go out of her way to help find the right Dr to go to for anything else that is going on that is outside her treatment area. On your first visit always be clear you want her to treat you because you DEFINITELY want her treatment.

Been going to Dr Chapek since early 2000's. She's amazing at what she does, and gets better every year as she is passionate about continuing her learning and training. Has helped my kiddos, myself and friends I've referred. Some people say they don't feel anything during osteopathic adjustments but for me it's one of the most relaxing experiences ever. She is VERY good at cranial osteopathy, best I've ever been to.

Dr. Chapek is an analog player in a digital world. She is grounded in the fundamentals of health and was able to help me correct a low back issue that had been bothering me for almost two years within my first 2 visits. She was able to address the issue in a way that my "spine specialist" MD, my physical therapist, and chiropractor could not. She is a great listener and I've always found her to be honest and direct about what she can and cannot help me with. Her methods are non-traditional when compared with the typical "doctors visit", but they are highly effective and worth a shot.

She takes a few types of insurance but only accepts cash or check, so come prepared.

Dr. Chapek has been AMAZING - I have been seeing her for the past 6 months and now through my first pregnancy as well. My chronic chest pain for over 10 years has gotten significantly better because of Dr. Chapek and her care. I am a DO (osteopathic physician) myself, so I have seen some of her techniques in the past and received treatments from different OMT physicians, but I can honestly say that without Dr. Chapek, I'm not sure my pain would have ever improved this much in the short period of time. She has been great, spends hours with her patients (I never feel rushed!) and makes sure I get all my questions answered. She makes all her patients feel comfortable and cared for. Not many doctors out there like her! I trust her with my health and will be bringing our baby to see her in the near future!
